Provide strategic and operational direction of the Zydus US Company's IT initiatives in support of its business goals. Direct the planning and implementation of systems and technology in support of business operations to improve cost effectiveness, service quality, business efficiency and productivity. Drive compliance within the IT department, coordinating efforts with system owners to ensure computer systems are delivered and maintained in a qualified state. Create and reinforce a service and compliance culture.

 

essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive formal and informal leadership to promote a positive work environment and to communicate overall business expectations to all working groups.
  • Manages IT department's operational and strategic planning, including business requirements, budget, project planning and organizing, and negotiating the allocation of resources.
  • Serve as the highest escalation level for all infrastructure and execution issues and lead disparate teams toward problem resolution.
  • Identify and select new technologies, developing and communicating roadmaps for these technologies as well as defining and implementing infrastructure solutions that directly address business requirements.
  • Prepare and secure approval for CAPEX and OPEX budgets to support company objectives and manage within budget while always seeking savings and high service levels.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining computer operations production SOPs and documentation.
  • Work with Quality to ensure compliance to GXP regulations.
  • Establish key performance indicators and service level agreements for continually improving the performance of IT operations.
  • Develop and monitor the organization's Disaster Recovery strategies/methodologies; serve as the key contact with Company's management and coordinate IT activities in the event of a disaster.
  • Manage personnel activities including IT personnel planning, hiring and onboarding, performance management, training, and career development for direct reports.
  • Exhibit behaviors consistent with Company values at all times.
  • Establish IT departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to meet departmental and Company objectives.
  • IT infrastructure setup and migration in case of M&A related activities.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES

  • Broad, yet deep technology background across the full range of IT infrastructures including data center operations, networking, telecommunications and end user support.
  • Understanding of leading IT practices such as ITIL and PMI principles and related application to Company's infrastructure environment.
  • Emails management, backup plan disaster recovery
  • Develop and implement IT related polices and SOPs across the companies.
  • IT related project planning, execution and implementation
  • Proven management and leadership skills, including strong interpersonal and organizational skills with ability to coach and mentor personnel to consistently high standards.
  • Proven skills to diagnose and resolve complex system problems.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to understand and interpret the needs of the end user and apply application and systems knowledge to identify appropriate solutions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships with primary support functions.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science required or the equivalent in pertinent, progressive experience with increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Ten years' IT management experience.
  • SAP implementation and maintaining SAP system preferred
  • Extensive experience managing medium and large infrastructure projects.
  • Experience negotiating contracts and agreements with IT vendors.
  • Experience in pharmaceutical industry preferred
  • Proven experience in a multi-computer platform environment required; cGMP environment preferred.
